Mick McCormick is a queer filmmaker drawn to the uneasy space between authenticity and performance. Across horror, comedy, and satire, his work explores characters who reshape themselves in pursuit of acceptance, often discovering that the identities they’ve constructed become their own prisons. -- His most recent film, ROT, follows an engagement-bait content creator who develops an increasingly intimate relationship with the goopy, human-like creature that emerges from her floorboards. 

A recent graduate of Oberlin College with a B.A. in Cinema and Media and a minor in Studio Art, Mick has worked with Hello Friend Media, Red Bicycle Productions, and The Daily Show as a Production Assistant and Junior Producer. He also served as an Archival Assistant on Ondi Timoner's Race to Catch the Last Nazis. At Oberlin, he was selected as one of four Media Associates, where he served as a peer mentor who taught workshops, held office hours, and provided production support to fellow filmmakers.
